What you can't see (or even feel) may be hurting you...

Mary Kay Ash said, “Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn’t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn’t know that so it goes on flying anyway.” We see this all the time in children. They charge ahead with no fear because they don’t have a preconceived idea about their abilities (until we, as parents, place it on them.)

I wonder how much more we could create, accomplish and manifest if we didn’t see any limitations. You hear fabulous stories about people who overcame tremendous odds to go from poor to rich, wheelchair-bound to running, and grossly obese to fit. What they likely had in common was not only drive, but also the decision to see no limits. The question is: what would you do if you knew you could not fail? (Robert H. Schuller quote)

In our practice, I often see people forgetting their abilities, or accepting that they are just “getting old.” I call this the Dim Lightbulb Syndrome. For example, one woman got a spinal check-up just out of curiosity. “I have no pain or problems,” she said. Shocked that her neck had advanced subluxation (spinal misalignment causing nerve stress) and arthritis, she asked, “But how could I feel okay?” I explained that we only feel about 10% of our nerves, which is why disease and dysfunction can fester without our awareness (as in heart disease.) She decided to get adjusted to remove nerve stress and stop the arthritis. That’s when it got really interesting.

Two weeks into care, this sweet woman commented that she could now turn her head and see behind her when pulling out of the driveway. She was astounded because she hadn’t realized that she lacked motion in her neck until it improved. A few months later she commented, “I have so much energy since I’ve been getting adjusted!” Several weeks after that she realized that her “normal morning headaches” had subsided.

I wouldn’t have classified having constricted neck motion, lack of energy and daily headaches as healthy, but for her it had all happened so slowly (and didn’t everyone have those problems?) that she thought it was normal for her age. It wasn’t until her nerve system was working better that her “power” turned back on in her body. The light got brighter. She now sees more potential in her life. She has less limitations.

Where have you “settled” with your physical health? Maybe it’s time to explore how to get your verve back.
