Daniel,

Your correct, there is no magic bullet, other then EDUCATION, it is the single most important aspect of our life, our book the The 7 Day Back Pain Cure and our Lose the Back Pain System as well as our Lose the Neck Pain system are 99% Education, and when you educate your self from all points of view there is no way you can not benefit...

Thanks for the responses. After Steve's last email with some additional exercise suggestions (specifically for the painful SI joint), I'm finally seeing some progress. So I think I'm going to stick with the system for awhile ... I'm cautiously hopeful that I'll continue to see some improvement.

It is actually impossible to have a one cure for everybody and that is highlighted by your situation and the solutions that this type of website tries to provide .The dysfunctions highlighted on this website and the solutions may well cover a large percentage of problems out there but there are always the odd one that doesn't fit into the mould. Sometimes what is needed is a one to one approach by someone qualified to identify the problem and provide a personalized cure.Sometimes one person's cure is another persons poison.

I hope you find this personalized approach to solve your problem.

TJ,

I do apologize for the delay and I have responded to you in both email and help desk... as our old help desk did not allow us to attach attachments, to responces...

That said, over the last week we have just updated our support desk to a new system that will allow me more flexibility, better notification and will allow me to provide better support...

Well, I did open another support ticket about my continuing problems (over a week ago), and so far no one has responded.

I'm going to give it another week, but I think I'm reaching the conclusion that this exercise/stretching program is not going to address my back pain. I've followed all the suggestions and the only improvement I can report is that I now have firmer abdominal muscles and my quads are much looser from the stretching. However, my back pain is just as bad ... actually worse, since I now have sciatic pain as well.

I'm very disappointed, because I read so many great testimonials and the program looked so promising.

TJ, by all means do contact Steve Hefferon directly again for further support and help.

The support is free and part of the LTBP program.

Thank you

Thanks, Ann. I'm trying to take it slowly, but it is really tough... I've been very active and in good shape for most of my adult life (I was weightlifting regularly and ran a half marathon just two years ago), so not being able to do even simple stretches without pain is a very frustrating experience for me.

I bought a Back Joy device for my chair yesterday and that seems to help somewhat. While I was at the back store I also tried the inversion table to see if I'd consider using one - OUCH OUCH OUCH. That was the wrong decision! At least I know that now, so I won't be spending $300 on one anytime soon.

Hi TJ,

I was thinking back to when I started the LTBP exercises and how I felt then. I was in a lot of pain and had been for over a year before I started with the system, so I had to go really slow and steady with it. I got excellent results but I did go very, very slowly at first.

You did the right thing contacting Steve as he will have more info & expertise than we do but I thought I would just say a few things that helped me in case they might help you.

It is likely your body is not used to exercises or not these ones at least and best to go slow and steady and gently. Only go to your tolerance - don't push too hard especially in these very early stages. Best not to do too much too soon.

As FTP is your main one have you tried just simply taking the first exercise and doing that only once. (or choosing one from FTP you find a little easier?) Then if you are OK gradually increasing that exercise to twice then three times and so on. Then when your body has adjusted to that try introducing a second exercise from FTP gradually building up.

It may take some time but I hope you find that it is worth it and it helps.

Also try doing the exercises after a warm bath or shower or a short walk if you can.

Great you are following the other pain reduction strategies as well. Its not easy having back pain, I know. Just take it gently and do keep in touch with Steve and also here and see how you go. Hugs

I received the LTBP system, listened to the CDs, watched the videos, and did the assessments a bit over a week ago. I tested positive for FTP, HH, and FHS. I tried each of the exercises once but it was overwhelming - most of them caused me pain, and there were just too many to do every day. I contacted Customer Support and Steve said to start with just the FTP exercises and stretches and add the others gradually.

The next day I had sciatic pain in my left leg, which I haven't had in months. I contacted Support again and Steve suggested leaving off the stretches, which can aggravate sciatic pain. So instead I have been trying to do just the FTP exercises (strengthening glutes and lower abs). After a week, I'm in more pain than I have been in months. I've always had a very sore lower back, especially in the morning - it's now so bad I can barely dress myself each day.

I've been following all the pain treatment techniques that I can - warm showers, heating pad, good sleeping position, supportive pillow, practicing good posture, etc. I've been trying to avoid NSAIDs, but I'm getting desperate. Today I have very bad pain in both hips, in addition to the lower back and sciatic pain. Also my neck is horribly sore, which is a recent addition.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do? It seems that anything I try just makes my pain worse.
