Assessment for high hip dysfunction
I have had sciatica pain in my right hip and leg off and on when first standing up since March. I purchased the muscle imbalance system and was surprised to see that my high hip was on the left side. I have been going to a massage therapist and chiropractor and there were muscle knots in my right hip and my right leg was usually shorter before the chiropractor did the stretches, but both legs became even after the stretches. So I am doing the exercises for the hip on the left side and am finding this helpful. My theory is that since my left leg is shorter, it is causing more strain on my right leg and thus the muscle spasms in my right hip and sciatica pain on the right side. What do you think?

Hi Betty,
How are you getting on? If you haven't already read this article you may find it interesting
http://www.losethebackpain.com/treatments/musclebalancetherapy.html
The other thing is that if you have not already done so to send in your assessments/photos to Steve who may be able to advise you further on your question.
Wishing you all the best.

Ann, thanks for your reply. I have been doing the FTP, HHD, and Sciatica exercises for 11 days now and it is helping. I have not had any flare-ups. Betty

Re: Assessment for high hip dysfunction
I have the same problem that Betty describes. High hip on the left side and sciatic down the right leg. I've been doing the required stretching and movements but have not found any relief from the pain. It actually seems to make it worse especially in the morning. I was hoping to get even a little relief from the Lose The Back Pain system but that doesn't seem to help. Don't know where to turn. HELP!

Russ
Yes it was the same with me, high left hip, what confused me some what was symptoms of a high right with the angle of the femur turning in more on the right, coxa valga, that's why the right leg was a little shorter yet left hip higher for me
Look into other stretchers from yoga specific for where your out of balance
Investigate egoscue and meilus
