Sciatica???
Can a person have sciatica pain on both sides? I have pain from in the shoulder joints, the hip joints, down the buttocks down the back of the leg and knee to the calf -- but, only when I move. If sitting of resting, no pain.
My doctor does not know what my problems are, but does not think it is Sciatica because it is on both sides(including the shoulders). I don't have any sort of shooting pain or radiating pain. Does this sound like any sort of back injury at all. My pcp is looking at something called Polymyalgia rheumatica.
Thanks/

Re: Sciatica???
When there is FTP the tilting of the pelvis can stretch the nerves especially when you have minimal support from the TVA and lower abs. When i had SI joint dysfunction I also had FTP and had sciatic type symtpoms on the right side. Since my SI has been adjusted to neutral the sciatic like symptoms moved to both legs down to the outer part of the calf. As soon as I strenghtened my TVA and lower abs the pain dissipated like rolling up a lampshade. I would explore SI joint and FTP if that is your situation.

Re: Sciatica???
Paul --thank you for the input. Excuse my ignorance, but what is FTP, TVA and SI Joint dysfunction. I can look this up once I know what it means. I'm very new to all of this. My problems just appeared in mid-February and by mid-March I could barely walk. It hit me like an avalanche.
Thanks, again --

Re: Sciatica???
FTP= Forward tilted pelvis
TVA - tansverse abdominis muscle
psoas - large muscle connecting the pelvis
all these are catalysts to certain types of leg pain

Steve --
My PCP ruled out Fybromyalgia because I am not sensitive in any of the pressure points that indicate Fybroyalgia.

Re: Sciatica???
Paul -- thanks again. I'm waiting for the results of my MRI. I don't know if that will tell me anything.
