Re: heal and soothe
Until you get an expert opinion from the manufactures, since being on all sorts of meds in last 4 years Ive found that eating some starchy or similar foods before taking the more intrusive medications helps line the stomoch. perhaps 5 minutes before is good. Also some meds are not good if you get stomoch ulsers or you get asthma. Im not a doctor, just got used to meds and the advice, and self study because I want to know what my doctors are throwing at me before I do the wrong thing !
Best wishes...

Denise,
It is true you can take the enzymes with a starch like pretzels or crackers or apple sauce...
you can also take the capsules a bit earlier at night and drink more water 30 minutes after taking the enzymes to insure the enzymes are in solution so to not get that enzymes to be in one big clump...

Re: heal and soothe
I think taking them at bedtime is a bad idea because a lot of supplements can cause reflux, and this just may be one of them.
Like someone else here stated, fill your stomach with an enzyme food and take the pills perhaps 2 hours before bed.

Re: heal and soothe
I take Heal-n-Soothe right before bed, sometimes up to 9 capsules even... I do take them with some fruit or some pretzels and I have no problems at all...
And I sometimes am bothered by acid reflux, which, on a side note, is not caused by to much acid but instead by a lack of stomach acid.

Re: heal and soothe
What you term acid reflux is a lack of digestive enzymes. We are born with X amount of enzymes, and over the years these enzymes get depleted so that by the time we hit 50 we need to concentrate more on getting our stomachs ready for the food we ingest.
Not knowing the age of the person I am only guessing, but basically in order to keep our digestive systems running smoothly we need to eat the foods that come with their own enzymes, which means live or raw foods.
Enzymes help us to digest properly and help the cells to assimilate the nutrients. By the way, some natural health (and other) professionals believe that enzymes are the secret to longevity.
