Re: IBUPROFEN
Did you read the article? If not let me some it up…
Pain is generated in several different ways, The first is through direct pressure, any time there is an abnormal amount of pressure or some structure in the body is creating a rubbing or irritating contact to a nerve. That will cause pain
The second way our bodies experience pain is through lack of blood flow to an part of our body that is called ischemia, ask any one who has had a heart attack how painful it is.
Now lets look at some of the root causes, a herniated disc can put pressure on a nerve, Stenosis can put pressure on a nerve and trauma can put pressure on a nerve and cause pain. Now regardless of the source of the pain our bodies go through a cycle of recovery.
Part of the process we go through is called “The Pain Spasm Cycle” You have pain because your muscle are going through Spasm and conversely we have Spasms because we have pain. The trick is to break the cycle even if its just for several minutes…
That is why we use ICE or HEAT or take pain meds or go to PT and get other modalities like Ultrasound and Electrical Stimulation and the list can go on.
In the end the truth is most people battle pain for one reason and that is inflammation. Inflammation is the root of most pain either acute or chronic.
Now we get to NSAID’s and cortisone injections to control inflammation to decrease pain. NSAID’s are not a long-term option reasons stated above, cortisone works for a little while if at all, listen to Danny tell his story of 9 Epidurals. http://losethebackpain.com/getstarted.html
Truth is several other factors need to happen in order to get relief from inflammation, the first is increase blood flow, by addressing the fibrin in your blood. To see an image of your red blood cell getting caught up in fibrin look a the image at http://losethebackpain.com/inflammation5.html it s the 4th image down.
The second is to control the circulating immune complexes the trigger for inflammation.
I hope that helps…
