Going to see Al
Hey everybody, just wanted to say I think this is a great website because of all the great people involved, from Steve and Jesse, to all the forum posters and success stories and others who are suffering from back pain and all the other problems that come with back pain. I would like to let people know that I will be going to see Al on May 26th and 27th. If you don't know my story I'll just sum it up. I have thoracic back problems and found out about Al through this website. I bought a robot from Al and had it shipped overseas without even going to see him. It was probably a mistake, but I was desperate and impatient. After waiting weeks and weeks and spending extra money to have it shipped to a couple of different shipper receivers I finally received it. It came with two instructional dvd's and I tried to train myself to use it. I couldn't. Then a very helpful friend decided to help me. That didn't quite work out either. So then I had to wait and ship it cross-country again. Now I am back in North America and will finally be going to see Al to have him personally diagnose and then train me too help myself. If I could do it over I would and I would have waited to buy the robot and saved money and went to see him first. SO, if there is anybody contemplating doing the same thing, think twice. I am very happy to be finally going to see the wizard, and am going to enjoy Florida for a week. Rory

Re: Going to see Al
Hi Rory
Yes keep us updated on what happens buddy
Out of interest how come you couldn't learn how to use it, I have the portable robot and once you know the basics on how to move the robot arm around ect, you just apply pressure until there is some resiance, leave it there for so many minutes, then go a little deeper, then you just figure out which are the best angles to hit certain muscles
Using it is easy, it's knowing exactly which muscles to hit and in what order
Didn't you get anywhere from Al, Dave, telling you what to hit from your photos
I only have one instructional dvd which shows Al using the main thurbo, does the other dvd show the portable in use then
Let us know what happens mate
Paul

Re: Going to see Al
Hi Rory-
I was like you. It took me a visit to Al to actually get the feel of a muscle releasing. According to Al it is because certain people learn different ways. I am one of the people who needs to feel/see it and demonstrate it. Some are visual learners (like WLP) who can pick it up via a disc and over the phone.
After i bought the robot i got an hour training, but it was not until i returned for 4 hours of training on it that it clicked.
Like Paul said placement is key as well. Once Al gives you a program that works for you it will be like brushing your teeth.
I sold my machine to Paul and in hindsight I am glad he is a visual learner because i would feel bad if he did not grasp it.
But he is getting more out of that machine than i ever did. He is a man on a mission

Re: Going to see Al
Hi guys
As far as I know I'm using it right anyway, certainly feeling better and better, now fouscing on my shins, pecs and QL less focus in other places
I'm not entirely sure of the feeling of a muscle releasing, I mean say the iliacus, it feels like its deflating or letting a car tire down
I dunno it just seems simple to me, you press down until some resiance, wait, feel with fingers to see if it's softer, then press more in and keep doing it
I feel like maybe I'm missing something with other people needing help, but I know what it could be, feels like it's going great for me
Im still trying to change the way my right leg and foot hits the ground, I think the jammed groin which is now 90% unstuck is how the foot hits the ground, legs are bowed to a degree, my cold leg is just about gone I can sit an 45 mins without any coldness, I feel the coldness was all coming from a sick right quad

Wow that's great you must really know your body well or something and to be honest I might have given it about six hours, but I couldn't feel a difference really, and Al's claim is that you can always feel the difference after on trip so I feel really good about going to see him.

Re: Going to see Al
Hi Rory
Well I was 100% certain my iliacus, psoas and adductors were major players, the first time I used in on them for around 2 hours before standing back up, I got immediate results
Been bombing those muscles for hours ever since, plus a few other muscles, now concentrating on other areas which I know 100% are affecting my back from looking at my posture but to lesser a degree
I think if just know what muscles to hit and stick at it you would make amazing progress
Update us in a few weeks bud
Paul

Re: Going to see Al
Hey everybody I went to see Al about a week ago, and have learnt some great information, and confidence, and knowledge of the robot. I got immediate results in range of motion and pain. I went to the beach the next day and was throwing and skipping rocks without any pain in me left shoulder. I also noticed that I was standing straighter as soon as i looked at a mirror(because I have been examining my posture daily for the past year.) I am not 100% cured but have great hope for the future and being able to get use out of my robot for the future. I also had a great lunch with Dave and his wife. I am going to be setting up my portable tonight and continue with a program for myself with the robot and other modalities. How is everybody else doing?

Hi Rory
Good job buddy and it's great to hear your feeling better mate and like you say you now know which areas to work on and which are most important
I been doing great as well, I also spoke to Al on the phone as he looked at my photos, it was really good of him, and he told me my main areas to work on, the portable robot is a wonderful tool and I think your'll make great progress if your constant
