Inversion Therapy
I decided to try the inversion table finally that I'd purchased a few years ago and have to say that I think it might be helping!
I'm not usually influenced by the power of suggestion, especially on back pain related issues, but have to admit that this morning I do truly feel a little better and find myself eager to go another round today!
It has always made such sense to me, but just after getting the table I heard that most orthos were saying that such a device was just a gimmick and couldn't perform any true decompression. That was a bit of a downer and I had even decided to sell the unit at one point - I find that I'm very glad I didn't now!
My husband and I are quite happy with the results so far and I will try to keep ya'll posted on whether it truly is helping - my sciatic flareup seems to be a little less intense today and that is truly a miracle for me!
Anyway, just thought I would share my first experience from the table and would love to hear of anyone else's experiences with Home Inversion Therapy :)
Gentle {{{hugs}}} to all,
Freida

Re: Inversion Therapy
Hi Freida
I also suffered from Sciatica about this time last year. It was absolutely excruciating. I was scheduled for emergency surgery not even a week later. It scared me so bad I went right out and bought an inversion table. I got on it immediately 2x's for about 5-10mins. The pain in my left side of my bottom was gone. The pain and muscle spasms that ran down the back of my left leg disappeared. Lastly, what scared my doctor is the fact I could not move my toes or foot on command. He told me it would only get worse. As a matter of fact I used to trip over it. That's how bad it had gotten and quickly. However, at all cost I wanted to avoid surgery. But after only one day on the inversion table it all went away. My surgeon called me three times on my cell phone in total dismay, wondering what I did to relieve all the pain I had and how did I regain what they noted as nerve damage in my foot. So Freida, I say all this to say, first things first... believe it will work and then wait on it. Many people are shocked when they see me playing basketball with my son, because this time last year I couldn't even walk my dog. Hope this helps.

Re: Inversion Therapy
Hi Freida
I have been using home inversion therapy for some 15 years now and would highly recommend it to anyone. I suffered horrific sciatic problems some 16 years ago and eventually had a laminectomy at L3/L4/L5 and was later diagnosied with degenerative disk disease at S1. I invert most days at least twice and this has now become a daily ritual for me along with Far Infa-Red Detox Sauna. As a Massage Therapist/Energy Worker I invert several of my clients prior to massage and the results are amazing. I find inversion a great way to start the day and a relaxing way to end it. Keep me posted on your progress.
