L5 S1 Disc Bulge - Help
Hello,
I have been diagnosed with a disc bulge at the L5 S1 with mild disc degeneration, three years ago. I started the lose the back pain system last week and my disfunction is the "High Hip". What else would be most helpful in improving my condition? I currently do the exercises associated with the "high hip" about twice per day. I feel like I'm reversing this treatment because of my job ( I sit nearly 7 hours per day).
Thanks in advance.

Hi , can you be more specific,,,are you having pain?,,,if yes i would say try accupuncture for pain managemen.....do you have sciatica,,,,the excercises in the LTBP program for sciatica are great....keep doing the excercises in teh program,,,,as far as your diagnose are concerned,,,they are not going to change easily,,,it takes a lot of time for disc to heal and your problem may not be coming from bulge.....i do accupuncture and deep tissue message.....it helps plus keep doing the excercises.....

To answer your question yes. I am having pain, just under my right shoulder blade to my lower back(feels like tension, or pulling). Then a different type of pain from my buttocks down to my calf (had to describe it, is that sciatica??).

Takes time for the disc to heal? Glad your not a doctor :) Unfortunately discs don't heal or regenerate they only get flatter and squish more of themselves into and onto the nerves.
Having impinged nerves from a disc bulge myself and walking out of doctor after doctors offices with just more pain killers seems to be the norm for most people and unfortunately gravity sucks. Oxycontin is your friend.
Inversion treatment looks like the only thing that can pull the vertebrae apart and give some relief?

Here is a list of things I've found that helps.
1> Read this book "How to Treat Your Own Back" by Robin McKenzie. It will really open up your eyes.
I swear by it.
2> Get an inversion table, dont just go inverted, "rock". I do 3 minutes light rock, 3 minutes fully inverted, and 3 minutes aggressive rocking.
3> Active Hydration. Drink alot of water, discs are fluid based.
4> Pilates. I do Mailibu Pilates on a chair myself.
5> Deep tissue massage.
I've a buldged disk L3.L4. First time I had a shot,
was good for 6 months. 2nd shot was good for 1 week.
Thats when I discovered the above from another website.
