Psoas related to LBP
Steve or Jesse....I was wondering what your thoughts on the Psoas muscle causing LBP, butt and hip pain/tightness.....My Psoas will tighten up big time and I can feel it all in the hip, butt and lowerback....super tight. If I dig into it using my thumb I get instant 100% relief, but it usually only lasts for 5 min to 1/2 hour.....so it seems that my Psoas seems to be a big part of my problem.......any thougths or suggestions?.....I have been using the LTBP for 6 months.....I have a 7mm Sacrum downntilt on the right side, slight bend/curve in my spine to the right side....pain is all leftsided. Thanks

The Psoas is a *********** is very hard to control if you do not get it under ropes.
This is what happens, the Psoas become strong and tight and that puts the Glute into remission or in other words the Glutes get inhibited or in plain english the glutes stop working the way they should and guess what your hips go into a tilt...
Trigger point work in one Great way to knock down the Psoas, a good massage therapist can work it to but it hurts like hell and at least with the trigger point device you can self control the pressure.

Can you explain that product a little bit.......From the picture and reading on it it doesnt really say how it is used. It looks like you lay on those tips.....would seem to be tough to work the Psoas with this......Thanks

What about just using a golf ball or something small and hard to do trigger point therapy on the Psoas area?
I too am intrigued, and I know the Psoas is part of my problem as well..

You can actually do it yourself.....you have to dig your hands deep into the side of your ab to get to the muscle...but theres only so much pressure you can get that way and it eventually bothers the shoulders........I also have also used something sturdy and straight that is about a foot long....I use this minature bat that works but make sure you find the muscle with your hand first....A PT or Chiro can do it best though...
I have also found a great stretch that works where you stand along side a couch or bed....one leg kneeling on the couch with he leg behind you and the other on the floor.....basically the lunge position....then jsut lean foward but dont arch your back.......I have had some nice relief from doing this stretch about 5x a day along witht he deep/hard self massage

When you say a miniature bat, would that be like a "d-ROLL" ?
