Quadratus Lumborum muscle/ advise help please
After two years of suffering with pain, 3 CT scans and 2 MRI's, my neurologist determined that the left flank pain, waist and pain that would radiate to my left upper back and under left rib cage is being caused by my "Quadratus Lumborum muscle". He is sending me to physical therapy starting this week. I would image that stetching this muscle should help. The pain is sometimes unbearable. I have been to spine doctors, received cortizone shots that did nothing. Oh, the frustration. I did have a brain tumor two years ago (non-cancerous thank God). Have had issues ever since the surgery.
Has anybody else experienced similar pain? Advise from the experts would be appreciated.
Sincerely,

Geri, almost every single back pain suffer has an issue with their, QL as it is called...
The question is, is it tight or weak, and starting an type of recovery with out knowing the answer to that question is the difference between relief and continued suffering...
That is what we teach you with Muscle Balance Therapy, that sad part is that PT, MD and DC most of the time do not, they just start treating the symptoms and that does not work for long term

Thank you so much for answering my question. I will give physical therapy a go, but will keep your website on "favorites" for future use. I am sure I will get back to you. Thanks again.
