Hi Sam,
You sound like you are doing the right things educating yourself re sciatica and eating healthy etc.
How many weeks have you been doing the exercises for and are you doing all the exercises for your issues? I am just wondering if you are doing too much too soon?
I was in a significant amount of pain before I started with lose the back pain system. I discussed it with Steve Hefferon and we worked out that for me it would be best to take it real slow and steady, listen to my body and gradually build up the exercise.
So what I did, after the self assessments, was to take the first exercise for one of my dysfunctions- (which was Forward tilting pelvis) tried that exercise for a few times until I was Ok with it. Then I added a second exercise and did both for a few days then added a third and so gradually increased the amount of exercises.
When I had about 3 or 4 exercises for my FTP I was comfortable with, I then started on the first exercise for my High hip and followed the same pattern. Then gradually added in all the exercises I could do.
There were some I really struggled with and I contacted Steve about those and he gave me advice.
If any specific exercises cause more pain to you, prob best to avoid for just now and discuss with Steve.
For now if you are in pain, perhaps consider a days rest then starting again but more gently...
A few other tips you can try from my experience if you like; try doing the exercises after a warm bath or shower or after a short walk as it warms you up a bit. You don't necessarily need in my experience to do all the exercises at once- see if it suits you better to do one of them and then another after a while...
Also do remember that it took a while to get your body into this pain and it may take a while to get you out of it. We are all different, I was about 3 weeks before I noticed a difference then it got better from there. I know others who have been much quicker.
Do contact Steve for advice as well as he was always very helpful to me and may have additional suggestions for you.
Love to hear how you get on.
Hugs
