Therapy for spondylolisthesis?
What is recommended for spondylolisthesis? Is inversion therapy or Nubax or a decompression machine recommended? Will they make the slippage worse? I have spinal canal stenosis at the L4-L5 level secondary to a combination of grade 1 spondylolisthesis related to facet degenerative change and ligmentum flavum hypertrophy. I suffer from low back pain, and sciatic pain in both hips and both legs. I do the muscle imbalance exercises which help. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks!

Re: Therapy for spondylolisthesis?
i read with interest your concerns with treatment for spondelithesis i am surprised you haven't got an answer maybe because they don't have an answer is my guess. i have had a fusion 3 years ago and while i am a lot better its still always a worry it will return i have since had knee surgery on right knee after trying the excercises on ltbp my knee just got worse and unbearable i don't care what they tell you if you have bone touching bone surgery is the only alternative but i will stress the knee surgery was far worse recovery then the fusion i have to be dilergent with the exercises to get the knee to respond there is no quick fix unfortunately i know i will need a total knee replacement in 15 to twenty years time but i'll be pretty desperate to go under knife again i am also having hip pain which is destressing i don't want anymore surgery but i would like to work for a few years yet. i think you have to get some relief whether you chose surgery or not either way its a trial. i'm glad i had the fusion even if it buys me alittle more time the alternative was pretty painful and debilatating. mystey

sorry i don't know if i'm game to try the inversion table or nubax i think nubax is not a bad choice but you have to be careful when dealing with the spine so i would like someone to advise on either but it is hard to get an answer and to put trust in the answer you get is your call its your pain at the end of it all i'm sceptical on trusting anybody at all you have to listen to what your body is telling you. mine tells me you have to keep moving but be careful not to put too much stress on it. i'll never be a couch potato but as long as you keep moving your working somewhat. mystey
