Tightness on left side
Hi,
I have been using the LTBP system for a while now and it has helped tremendously however I still have this tightness on my left side (I have been diagnoses with a high left hip and have an extremely tight left psoas) that won't go away. No matter how much I stretch it won't go away. I went to see Al Meilus and he couldn't help. It's not horrible pain but at times it can be but mostly nagging tightness all the time. I am in the Dallas area and was wondering if anyone could suggest someone to go see. It just gets frustrating going to see these so called "specialists" and giving then my hard earned money and then i get no results. Al Meilus cost me $800 and he didn't do anything! I am 27 years old and healthy otherwise. Al seemed like a salesman to be honest. He wants to sell his robots. And after I had spent $800 for one day and I came back the next day and I told him I feel no better he said that I need more treatments and need to buy the robot and that may be true but man...I can't afford that! So I don't want to go from "specialist to specialist" until I can't eat from their fees. If anyone can recommend a good person to see in the Dallas area that would be great. I know something's a little off but I just can't get to it.
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick
I hear your frustration
We give so much but get so little back
The key is do something every day and keep doing it
I don't see any specialists anymore, I have seen many many specialists over the last 2.5 years and don't feel seeing someone once a week for an hour does much if anything long term
I think your problem must be complicated
I believe robots at home are key with LTBP knowledge long term
My situation is complicated, and I don't feel anyone on earth could totally put me right in a matter of days, or just seeing someone once or twice a week
Stay strong
Paul

Hey Paul,
Thanks for your reply. You hit the nail right on the head. No one can help in just one or two times after seeing them. I just bought a foam roller and it has helped a bit so I will try to do it daily and see what happens. My IT band is very tight. From your knowledge can the IT band cause tightness right below the ribs on your side? It hurts so bad when I roll the IT band. OMG!

Re: Tightness on left side
Hi Nick
I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I can imagine it must be frustrating for you. I just wanted to put a few points down:
Different people have different degrees of tightness in their muscles due to adhesions, knots, etc. Depending on how long the muscles and knots have been tight will dictate how long it will take to break up the knots and lengthen the muscles.
Some people, like Nancy Kennedy from this forum go to see Al and are cured in one day. She had scoliosis and was in severe pain. Years of discomfort. After one day’s treatment, she walked several miles down Clearwater beach. She posted a while ago that she is living normally now.
But is that the norm ? No. For most back pain patients, it takes time. How much ? In some cases, months.
Is a portable robot required in all cases ? No, but in many cases yes.
One thing Al always does during the first day’s treatment is to demonstrate that the robot works. He does this by showing range of motion improvements. If there is no improvement, he will not charge a patient. I do not know of any time he has worked on a patient and he has not gotten an improvement.
Was he able to get ANYTHING loosened up or increase ANY aspect of your range of motion during your time there ?
As regards money, the $800 he charges for a day’s treatment is very comparable to what would be charged for a day’s treatment by a massage therapist or physical therapist.
As regards him being a “specialist”or not, I won’t bore everyone with my story, but I was three weeks away from getting my right leg amputated and I owe everything to Al and the miracle from God that lead me to him.
I have gone from being told that I would be paralyzed from the waist down to being at the stage where I’m now able to get back to work [ if I can find a job ].
If you contact Channel 44 News in St Pete, have a chat with them about Al just did for Mike Delancey, a young Marine who was shot by a sniper in Iraq and put in a wheelchair. Mike took a round in the shoulder. The bullet fragmented and went into his spine and lung. His left arm barely moved and he had difficulty breathing. The VA did the best they could but he was left in that state. In one day, Al completely released his arm [ full range of motion ]. He then worked on the diaphragm under his ribs and got normal breathing restored. Contact the news station and ask them for a copy and you will see what he did. He has been doing similar things for many other veterans.
He has been honored by the University of South Florida for his achievements. Christie Brinkley and Prince [ the rock star ] will testify to that.
If you wish, contact his office and ask for contact details for Latise – a Jamaican lady. Her sister was bed ridden and on oxygen for four years. Doctors told her she’d never get out of the bed again. Al has her up on a cane now, and will have her walking normally within a few months. She has agreed to talk to anyone who wishes to hear her testimonial.
The money thing can be horrible. I lost all my life savings. Everything.I'm battling to save my house from foreclosure. I’m using the value of my house to pay for everything. My wife and I have not worked in three and a half years. But…I am not paralyzed and I am not in a wheelchair. I have severe problems with tinnitus and dry-eye, but I will defeat them as I have done with my back pain.
Hang in there.
If you want to have a chat, feel free to contact me.
I have been told by a multitude of doctors and others that I was one of the worst cases they had ever seen. I have the MRI’s and x-rays to prove it, including those of a 14mm herniation.
I got through this, you can too.
