Trauma to Upper Lip - Persistent Swelling/Inflammation (Desperate for Suggestions)
About 2 months ago, I tore my labial frenulum (tissue connecting the upper lip to gum) causing some swelling in my lip and cheek. After dissipating slightly over the first week, my lip continues to wax and wane to this day. I can almost feel "fluid" in my lip and cheek when I massage the facial areas. Other symptoms such as post nasal drip, excess mucous production, and blood taste in my mouth have aroused, which never in my life have symptoms such as these ever occurred to me (I'm only 19 and I've been healthy all throughout my life until this incident). I've been to my family physician, oral surgeon, dentist, ENT doctor (FP, oral surgeon, and dentist multiple times) without a proper diagnosis and even a sense of lack of concern on their part. The doctors prescribed me prednisone, mild diuretics, minocycline, and metronidazle to no effect. I have also taken benadryl and ibuprofen to no effect. Blood tests showed no signs of a chronic disease (thyroid, CBC panel, lipid panel, etc.). I am desperate and after hours and hours of researching online to take it upon myself to find a proper diagnosis, I ran across some websites containing information regarding systemic enzymes. I wonder if anyone thinks that this nutritional supplement, Soothe-N-Heal, may aid in the healing process of the edema in my lip and cheek. I think it is possible that something is impeding my lip and cheek to heal properly, in which the swelling suggests a state of chronic inflammation. Please let me know what you think, even if it a short response. If people are confident that this would help, I would surely make the investment to purchase a bottle of this supplement. Furthermore, I hear the systemic enzyme Vitalzym is also another powerful and effective nutritional supplement. Let me know what you think about this systemic enzyme and whether or not you think it is as effective as Soothe-N-Heal. Any suggestions or advice regarding the supplement, my condition, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Alex,
1. Has the bleeding has stopped?
*you can not take the enzymes if you are still bleeding...
2. Can you see if there is separation do you have loss of lip movement?
*If the labial frenulum is separated and not attached in anyway, the enzymes are not going to help the reconnection..
3. If surgery is not an option and it is not up to the body to heal its self, then yes the enzyme have an amazing ability to help the body heal soft tissue anywhere in the body...
Again really will on thing be the do all and catch all of any one condition, if the bleeding has stopped the enzymes can help...
"heal-n-Soothe"
I say keep looking for a medical professional that you feel comfortable you could also try a Naturopathic Doctor...

Re: Trauma to Upper Lip - Persistent Swelling/Inflammation (Desperate for Suggestions)
Thank you for your replies. The wound has fully healed and there is no persistent/visible bleeding present. However, I still have a metallic/blood taste in my mouth throughout the day with some post-nasal drip. My only guess is that something isn't healing properly. Again, I have never had those symptoms.
Initially, I thought severing my labial frenulum gave the illusion that my lip was swollen. However, the swelling seems to also be present in my cheeks, and when I massage the swollen areas, it feels as though fluid seems to be in them. A smaller new frenulum has developed allowing my lip greater movement, but still, my lip waxes and wanes in size throughout the day which I think is indicative of some inflammation. The doctors don't think it's a big issue, but my symptoms simply have never been present until now, and I fear that if I don't address it now, things can become worse. I went to my family physician where they measured high blood pressure for me for the first time! I've been a healthy 19 years old who has never had high blood pressure in his life! I don't know if my heart is working harder to heal the area, but this is freaking me out!
I am not experiencing any pain in the lip/cheek area, just the symptoms that I have addressed. My upper gums are a little swollen/inflamed according to the dentist. I just want my old lip/cheek back so I can go about my day.
I have heard some testimonials of this stuff acting as pixie dust healing some of the most chronic conditions that no prescribed medicine, no hospital treatment has ever alleviated. My back is fully against the wall in things to try to help find effective treatment for what I am experiencing. I pray that this product is the answer. I ordered a free trial and I'll see if it improves my symptoms. Also, I plan on visiting a lymphedema therapist to learn how to perform manual lymphatic drainage and to get some treatment while I'm at it. I'll see if that will help. Heal-N-Soothe I heard helps with tissue healing and blood cleansing of the entire body, something I haven't heard any prescribed medicine can do. Let me know your thoughts.

One thing that enzymes do is they break down the thick mucus in the sinus cavity and you could experience an increase in drainage as the as the sinus cavity is drained.
I think manual lymphatic drainage will help you, in some cases of trauma the lymphatic can get irritated and not work properly and then when you have a lot of swelling it does not drain properly...
Good call...

Steve,
Would Soothe-N-Heal help remedy temporary lymphedema or at least alleviate it? Whether my swelling is caused by some cardiovascular or lymphatic issue, can Soothe-N-Heal be effective for both problems?
