   Hello,

   I have chronic lower back pain that is certifiably undiagnosable. In other words, no one can tell me anything except that I will have a lifetime of constant pain; atleast that is what 3 different doctors told me, without citing any reasons, except that my imaging studies look fine.

   Unfortunately, I don't feel fine and I have 8 years of back injuries to prove it. I think I have a massive amount of scarring in my back muscles from years of back squatting too much weight and doing it incorrectly. I have limited options on how to fix this as stretching and strengthening seem to aggravate the pain, and I haven't seen any improvement to date. I want to purchase a home-use therapeutic ultrasound device to help loosen up this scar tissue so I can stretch it out. Does anyone have any suggestions for a particular brand or have any personal uccess stories with trying this treatment technique?

   All advice or questioning is welcomed.

   Yes, I have a Mettler ultrasound. It has saved my life. At the present time I have severe back pain for a chiropractor adjusted me when he was not supposed to. The ultrasound does help. Get a prescription from a doctor and definitly purchase one. Muscles that were severly traumatized on my body could never be healed with p.t. or massage and the ultrasound has helped. Good luck!

   I SEE A CHIRO THREE TIMES AWEEK FOR ELECTRIC STIM. AN ULTRA SOUND THREP.KEEPS ME WALKIN THATS ABOUT IT. I HAVE SPINAL STIM IMPLNT. FUSED DISC L5-S1 AN SCARED IN SCI NERVE. NOTHING SEEMS TO HELP. CONSTANT PAIN IN RGT.FOOT.WHEN NERVE IS AGRAVATED ITS LIKE LIGHTNING BOLTS ARE BANGING OUT OF MY FOOT AN THERE IS NO TELLING WHEN OR HOW IT WILL STOP. PROBLEM IS I,M NOT SURE WHAT BRINGS THE SAVERE PAIN ON SO I,M LIMITED TO DOING NEXT TO NOTHING ON TOP OF ALL THIS THEIR TELLING ME I HAVE A LARGE BONE SPRUR ADDING TO THE PROBLEM.EVERYTHING SEEMS TO AGRAVATE THE NERVE. BENDING- SITTING -WALKING YOU NAME IT. I,VE WOUND UP IN THE E.R. ACOUPLE OF TIMES UNABLE TO WALK.BOTH LEGS ARE INVOLVED ONE IS JUST MORE SO.LOSING WEIGHT AN WATCHING MY DIET RIGHT NOW IS ALL I CAN DO WHICH AGAIN IS RATHER DIFACULT.OH I FORGOT TO MENTION THE CRAMPING . THE PAIN AND CRAMPIN SO THEY STOPPED. WERE'S THAT LEAVE ME ,I DON,T NO. THE DOCTOR SAYS REMOVING THE BONE SPUR MIGHT HELP,BUT I,M STILL LEFT WITH THE NERVE SCARED IN. THIS ALL CAME ABOUT FROM A UNTREATED HERNIATED DISC SO I,D BE REALLY CAREFUL ABOUT DOING NOTHING. IN ONE MONTH THE HERNIATION WRAPPED AROUND THE SCI-NERVE AN HEALED. I DON,T NO WHAT ELSE TO SAY BUT HELP,IF YOU CAN I,M FEELING DOWN, ITS HELL TRYING TO STA POSITIVE,WITH ALL OF THIS INSANITY. I,M PRETTY MUCH OPEN FOR ANYTHING.GROUP THREPY WHAT EVER. WOULD REALLY LIKE TO FIND PEOPLE GOING THREW THIS WITH SOME REAL ANSWER.

   Thank you Maryann for your reply. I appreciate the advice but I was't able to afford that more expensive Mettler ultrasound device. A quick browse online revealed a one thousand dollar machine and I've already flushed much more money than that on useless therapies for my pain.

   I did order a cheaper, weaker version online that was delivered promptly and I am getting my wife to zap me every day with it. Its not powerful enough for my purposes, but I'm still trying to get some relief and healing out of it. I hope that you are hanging in there.

   Don White: I don't really know what to say for you. I'm just as irritated that so-called modern medicine has failed in relieving our pain and not helped us. I feel there is a huge gap in the western understanding of the human body. Ofcourse, medical doctors are not omniscient, nor are they cupable for our injuries or health problems. So I can't blame them fully. I only blame who promise to help out, but not before reaching into our pockets.

   About your situation, I know little as I don't have sciatic symptoms. Just local low back pain that refers to the front of the hips on occasion. I don't have any disc protrusion or bone spurs. Did you ever consider piriformis syndrome (sciatica causing) or maybe "Spinal Decompression", the next big thing at creating disc space? Its not indicated for me, but maybe you can ask your doctor about it.

   I get really depressed at times about my condition and the seemingly endless nightmare I am enduring. I'm not sure if I'll ever wake up from it, but I'm doing my best to face the fear and pain everyday.

   I know my ligaments and muscles are all trashed up so my next step is to find a reputable prolotherapist to heal my injuries. Godspeed to us all.
