Experienced Sales Manager Needed

I'm the CEO of a fast growing health and fitness publishing company and I'm searching for an experienced ecommerce marketing manager to join our team and help drive us to the next level. This is a "hands on" role and to be considered you must be:

If selected, you will be responsible for developing and launching a brand new ecommerce store / site to sell all of our proven products which we have been selling for years via direct marketing.

This position has P&L responsibility and you will be directly responsible for $X million per year in ecommerce sales.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of ecommerce marketing / selling

  • Strong knowledge of direct marketing

  • Proficient in various software programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) as well as web based programs
    Internet savvy


Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to manage multiple people (ex. graphic designers, webmaster, seo, ppc, etc ) and get projects done on time and within budget

  • Ability to develop a complete ecommerce site from scratch using proven design and marketing elements / practices

  • Ability to drive ecommerce sales and hit monthly, quarterly and yearly sales goals

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, meet deadlines, stay focused (no “multi-tasking” here!) and consistently hit your goals Must possess experience in similar position


Short-term Objectives (90 days)

  • Create new ecommerce site / store to sell existing products

  • Drive traffic via PPC and SEO (existing team in place for traffic)

  • Create reports to track performance

Ongoing Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ecommerce sales of $X million per year

  • Continuously test and optimize all product pages to maximize sale conversion rates using both web analytics and financial metrics

  • Work with existing product development team to add new products

  • Responsible for tracking product performance to determine which products to promote more heavily

  • Analyze competitor activity and market place trends and adjust our plans accordingly

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation for this role, as most in our company, is based primarily on the results you produce. It will consist of a flat fee / salary and several incentives and bonuses. The income potential is $50,000 - $150,000+.

  • We offer flexible work hours / schedule and the option of working remotely (though we prefer people working together in the office).

  • Our company headquarters is located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, which is approximately 30 minutes outside of Washington DC. If working remotely, weekly and monthly meetings will be required, as well as quarterly in person meetings.
