Osteopathic Treatments for Back Pain

Osteopathic treatment is a manual manipulation that encourages the innate forces of the body to heal damaged muscles. By applying seemingly innocuous forces in a very precise manner, the spines and joints can be convinced to release painful patterns that have imprinted on the body by trauma and repetitive stress.

Some treatments are aimed at shifting joints, others at shifting membranes and fluids and other at manipulating fascia and muscle tissues.

Osteopathic treatment has gone by various names: Osteopathic Adjustment, Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, Osteopathic Manual Treatment, Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment an Osteopathic Manual Medicine.
